My parents came over for dinner last week and as we were passing a loaf of warm crusty olive bread around the table, wrapped loosely in a European cotton cloth, my mom said “I remember when you got these linens during one of our trips to Italy.” It was such a sweet and nostalgic moment.

We’re in an era of immediate, overnight results and consumption. But the most elegant and inviting homes feel thoughtfully collected, not overly consumed or cluttered.

I love the term “Grand Tour” in interior design. It’s roots are now more or less archaic, but today the style lives on in a more modern (and less stuffy) way.
